A boy and his dog

I am happy to report that we finally found a home for "black dog!" She has gone on to be known as "Bama" and to live happily with her new teenage owner in Pelham. It was a sad day around my house when we had to say goodbye to her. Well, that's not exactly true. My husband was super sad about it. He had really grown quite attached to her during the week that we had her. The kids and I, as well as Indy & Lilo, were happy to have our house back to "normal" and I was happy to be able to park in the garage again! I know that all sounds really selfish and I guess, in truth, it is. I don't mean for it to be. I just know that we didn't have the time to spend with her that needed to be spent and that wasn't fair to her. She needs someone to love her and focus on her and train her. We weren't in a position at this point in life to do that. It does hurt my heart that my hubby was upset by this but it is nice to see that he cared so much about something! That sounds mean too. Maybe I shouldn't be posting today....but that won't stop me! Anyway, in the end it was good for everyone (even though "everyone" may not see it right now). "Bama" has an awesome new home; a boy who recently lost his childhood dog now has a new companion; we selfish people got our house back; Indy got her daddy back and Lilo doesn't have to worry about being eaten in his own house! Sounds like a win-win to me.
